Guided Sailing Day for Groups in the Raahe Archipelago

Fiia offers relaxed and participatory sailing experiences for international visitor groups travelling to Finland and the Raahe region. A typical group day on the water lasts 2–6 hours and works best for groups up to 19 guests.

Each sailing is planned around your group’s schedule, interests and the weather. The pace is calm, the atmosphere is friendly, and you can be as active — or as relaxed — as you like.

A real coastal experience

Being on a sailing ship feels different from anything on land: you can feel the wind, the deck moves with the sea, and the coastline looks completely new from the water.

Many guests have never been on a sailing vessel before. That is why the experience stays in memory. No previous sailing experience is needed.

Fiia is a sail training vessel, which means guests are welcome to take part in guided simple sailing tasks. Participation is always voluntary.

What happens during the day

A typical sailing day includes:

• Welcome and introduction to the vessel and crew
• A short, clear safety briefing
• Departure from the harbour and getting comfortable on deck or in the cosy salon.
• Calm sailing along the coast and islands
• Optional hands-on sailing (easy tasks, guided by the crew)
• Time for photos, conversation and enjoying the sea

If your group prefers a quieter experience, we focus more on scenery and atmosphere. If your group is curious, we include more learning and hands-on sailing.

Safety is the foundation of a good day at sea. Every sailing begins with clear instructions, and the crew guides guests throughout the trip.

Fiia has crossed the Atlantic twice and is built for demanding conditions. This reliability helps create a calm and confident atmosphere on board.

Food, stories and local atmosphere (optional)

Food and small breaks make the day feel complete. Catering can be arranged with trusted local partners, and dietary needs are taken into account in advance.

Options can include:

• Coffee/tea and light refreshments
• A meal on board or in the harbour after sailing
• Local flavours and seasonal menus

If your group enjoys stories, we can also include light storytelling about the coast, local life and sailing.

Weather & safety

Sailing is weather dependent. If conditions are not suitable, we adjust the plan safely — the day does not “fail”, it changes form.
